A Letter from John Powell

On behalf of the Arts and Sciences Foundation Board of Directors, thank you to all who contributed their time, talents and more than $764 million in philanthropic commitments for College of Arts and Sciences students, faculty, departments, programs and centers. Serving on the Foundation board, and as the College’s Campaign for Carolina Chair, I had the privilege of seeing the breadth of areas across the College that alumni, parents and friends are passionate about supporting. Your love for Carolina and the College is inspiring.

Arts and Sciences Foundation board members are fortunate to have the opportunity to see the impact of philanthropy in action at biannual board meetings. I always leave these sessions energized by the fresh ideas, new collaborations and the overall caliber of students, faculty and researchers in the College.

The motivation for giving during the campaign varies, but it all adds up to a better future, forged by people and programs who are reimagining the arts and sciences for the public good. Thank you for all you have made possible through your advocacy for, and philanthropy to, the College of Arts and Sciences during the Campaign for Carolina.
